It seems as technologies grow so does our “linguistical library.” Keeping up with this new lexicon can be like learning a second language. Podsafe, punchcasting, photofeed & permalink. These words are even vying for word of the year! The New Oxford American Dictionary declared “podcasting” the 2005 word of the year. Cast your ballots now.
So if you need help keeping up with all the latest portmanteaus (a word that fuses two or more grammatical functions i.e.. podcasting) try wikipedia. There you will find an invaluable source for deciphering everything daunting.

Earlier this year we photographed several interiors for a Missouri company showcasing the innovative way they deliver heating and air conditioning. If you look closely at the photos you will see tiny outlets placed strategically in the ceiling. Outperforming conventional heating and cooling methods in its delivery and installation, the system utilizes a high velocity system of air jets. This shoot has to rank as one of the most elegant “industrial” shoots we have been on. There was virtually no noise when the system was on not to mention how well the outlets can be integrated into the decor. Can you find them in the woodwork?

If you are familiar with all the new technology, you won’t confuse the word “podcasting” with some science fiction fishing adventure. Podcasting is the distribution of video or audio files over the internet. Web surfers can download content from podcasters’ sites or subscribe through sites like iTunes.

Podcasting may not evoke images of an alien with hip waders and a fly fishing rod, but there may be a podcast about such things in the near future. According to Bridge Ratings, five million people last year listened to a podcast (1.5 percent of current U.S. population). By the year 2010, up to 75 million will have listened to a podcast. That’s a 1,400 percent increase!
The podcasting trend that started over a year ago has become a hobby of many people under the age of 50. Twothirds of podcasters are male and 67 percent are 44 and younger, according to M:Metrics.
