What is determining your future? Do your goals feel like a collection of sticky notes that get lost before making them a reality? Well, if chance plays a more important role than choice when it comes to achieving your goals, Wendy MacDonald’s article, Making Goals Stick, is a must read. December saw the end to the phase out of black and white photographic paper manufactured by Kodak. This month in response to further growth in the digital camera market, Nikon Inc. announced it has stopped making “several of our film camera bodies and manual focus interchangeable lenses” and will cease as supplies are depleted.
Yes, it seems the digital life is here to stay and developing at a rate hard to keep up with. Just for starters, there are iPods, vpods, cookies & blackberries. Podcasts, webcasts, vcasts, youcast & icast. FTP, php, WiFi & Bluetooth. Bandwidth, Blu-ray and bin-hex, oh my heck. |
| It makes one yearn for the simplicity of making photos on a manual Nikon FM camera loaded with black and white film ready to be printed on black and white paper with a Beseler enlarger (you remember darkrooms don't you?) while listening to Elvis on a scratched LP and thinking the Internet is a passing fad. |

| Headquartered in Maine, with 9000 employees worldwide and with a wafer fabrication center in West Jordan, Utah, Fairchild Semiconductor plays a big role in your digital life, daily! Fairchild manufactures much of the circuitry used in many electronic devices. We spent two days making photographs in a bunny suit, in their West Jordan plant. |

Being on the trail of a rare book thief for several years, rare books dealer Ken......well maybe you should just read the article which appears in this months issue of San Francisco Magazine. The magazine had us photograph Mr. Sanders in his rare book store in downtown Salt Lake City.
It was a delight meeting Ken as we made photographs throughout his store. The nearly 5000 square foot shop opened ten years ago with over 100,000 new, used and rare books. His store specializes in Utah, Western & Native Americana, travel, adventure and natural history. If you have never been there you owe it to yourself; a morning of browsing. Long live locally owned book stores! |

Too many of us get into a rut, we live our lives doing what we’ve always done. The ‘rut’ got us to where we wanted to be last year - or did it? Did everything happen in your life that you expected last year? Did you achieve everything that you hoped for last year? Did you hope for anything - did you know what you wanted to achieve last year?

‘Make sure that it is your choice, not the direction of the ruts that determines your destiny.’

75% of adults in the US say that they set goals - out of that 75% only 15% write them down. Under 1% said that they followed through and actually achieved their goal. Where do you fit into this list?
There are two parts to achieving a GOAL - there is the INTERNAL part that comes first and then there is the EXTERNAL part . . . Let me explain what I mean, and I will start backwards - (do you work that way too?) . . . .
